①管路选型
如果想要制作R21/2螺纹根据此表1/2对应的大径d为20.955，小径d1为18.631，管路规格至少选择φ21x2才能够制作出螺纹，鉴于加工水平以及安全密封考虑，一般会取值为φ21x3，管路内径为φ15。同样加工Rc螺纹我们需要保证大径至少大于φ21，加上单边1mm安全值，一般至少为φ23，而内径取值一般为φ18.5。
②管路螺纹长度
此时应该参照表中的“外经有效螺纹长度”，按其中规定取值即可。1/2螺纹一般取值为15mm。可以发现根据表中基准距离加上装配余量等于有效长度的最小值13.2mm。
我国的管螺纹基本延用国际标准，采用英寸制。因为英国标准与美国标准斗法，所以国外标准分为了两种55度60度的。以前我国只是将管螺纹分两类G和Z，一些工厂里仍然延用这种用法，将一些配管接头的孔标G或Z或ZG，如G1/2表示55度圆柱管螺纹，Z1/2或ZG1/2表示55度圆锥管螺纹，Z1/2(60度)或ZG1/2(60度)表示60度圆锥管螺纹。现在的分法是55度非密封管螺纹为G，55密封管螺纹有两种：Rp圆柱内螺纹配圆锥外螺纹R1和Rc圆锥内螺纹配圆锥外螺纹R2，60度圆锥管螺纹即NPT管螺纹标为如NPT1/2。

55°英制密封管螺纹（R）。
英制密封管螺纹的完整标记由螺纹特征代号、螺纹尺寸代号和旋向代号组成。

圆柱内螺纹与圆锥外螺纹：
螺纹特征代号：RP ——表示圆柱内螺纹。
